𝐌𝐎𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐀𝐂𝐊: Your moisturiser doesn’t actually ‘moisturise’ your skin – it simply locks moisture in that’s already there. If you’re applying moisturiser to dry, dehydrated skin, it won’t do much for you as there’s no moisture to lock in!
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧: Hyaluronic Acid
𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬: Hyaluronic Acid helps skin repair itself, hydrates and improve elasticity, increases skin hydration levels and makes skin more plump and less dull. If you are someone who suffers from breakouts, Hyaluronic Acid could also help you! It’s non-comedogenic meaning it won’t clog your pores. Those who suffer from acne need to use hydrants to treat dryness, restore moisture and control oil and Hyaluronic Acid is the perfect product for that.
The addition of the vitamin B5 in Hyaluronic Acid 2% from The Ordinary helps to strengthen your skin’s outermost moisture barrier which filters out dead skin, improving the overall texture of your skin.
If you have problematic skin, you should notice a huge improvement in your skin by using Hyaluronic Acid daily in terms of texture, smoothness, moisture and brightness!
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬: It acts as a moisture/ hydration booster for your skin. It’s able to do this as it hold 1000x it’s weight in water, and acts as an attracting substance that pulls water from the air or deep within your skin to the outer layer of your skin so your skin can absorb it.
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐇𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝: Make sure your skin is damp before applying – this is sooooo important. Dampen your skin with either water or rose water and apply your Hylauronic Acid and follow with a pea sized amount of moisturiser to seal in the hydration. Again, don’t miss this step!
With any new skincare product, start off by using it once a day to make sure it agrees with your skin. After that, use it AM and PM/ whenever you need it. Drown yourself in it and bathe in it if you want! (not literally though).
Three different methods of dampening your face:
- Get a spray travel bottle and fill it with water – any spray bottle will do though, like this cheap one from Boots
- Mario Badescu Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater facial spray – this one is fab, but is not quite as effective as the third option because it has Aloe and Herbs too and isn’t simply Rosewater.
- Heritage Store Rose Petals Rosewater facial spray – this only has two ingredients; purified water and rosewater. It doesn’t have any oils or fragrances and is 100% natural. If it’s good enough for Caroline Hirons, (who advises us all to ‘just go and buy it’), it’s good enough for me!
Mario Badescu and Heritage Store facial sprays have countless skin benefits and are extremely hydrating and refreshing! They’re even better if you store them in the fridge so that when you use them they are extra fresh and cool.

𝗪𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐇𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝? Apart from SPF, this should be one of the most important products in your skin care regime – anyone and everyone should use it no matter what your skin type is!
𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐦𝐢𝐱 𝐇𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬? When using acids, you have to be careful as certain acids can’t be used together and some can only be used in the PM. The amazing thing about Hyaluronic Acid is that it can be used in conjunction with all other acids.
Hyaluronic Acid is an acid that’s naturally found in our bodies tissues – don’t let the word ‘acid’ scare you. It’s also what’s injected into the skin as botox fillers to make skin more plump and youthful. If you are put off by the word ‘acid,’ just try and remember that this is nothing more than an amazing hydrating serum that will make your skin glowy, soft and hydrated.
I personally love The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid, but if you give it a quick google you will find lots of different options from various brands at a variety of price points.
Buy The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid here:
I think Deciem £10.60 for £60ml is the best value for money as this product does go down quite quickly! Deciem is the umbrella brand that The Ordinary comes under so it’s a trusty website 🙂
To summarise: BUY THIS! Dampen face, use Hyaluronic Acid, seal it by putting moisturiser on top. Watch your skin transform into the best, most radiant, smoothest and glowiest version of itself ✨
